Justin Bieber Gets Platinum Album For ‘My World’

Justin Bieber was in Toronto last night (December 22nd) performing at the MuchMusic studio and meeting a few of his fans. While there, Justin was awarded the platinum album plaque for ‘My World’.

Justin has been touring for the past two months but was glad to be back in his home country.

The plaque is a great way to kick off 2010, a year that will see Bieber release the second part of My World, which is bound to do well too!

Selena Gomez recently chatted with LA Fusion from the set of Wizards of Waverly Place.

Selena talked about days off and being named after singer Selena Quintanilla.

Selena reveals that she hangs with her parents at the beach. “I had a day off and I went to Marina del Rey, and I went jet-skiing on the ocean for two hours. It was amazing, but I’m paying for it now because I’m so sore and my back is killing me (laughs).”

As for staying grounded, Selena credits where she grew up. “My parents, definitely, and where I’m from. I give Texas a lot of credit for who I am.”

“I think, Texas is very proud of Selena. My dad and my family loved her. So when my mom got pregnant, my dad wanted to name me Selena, after her. As I got older and I could understand, they told me, why I was named after her, I went to go visit her grave. I went to go see where she used to perform.”

Taylor Swift has been voted Entertainer Of The Year by The Associated Press. Taylor was chosen by newspaper editors and broadcast producers in a survey of members of the organization.

Last year Tina Fey won the honors!

During the past 12 months, Taylor has won numerous awards, including album of the year honors from the CMA and ACM for her latest project, Fearless. The album is now quintuple platinum for shipments of more than 5 million copies.

Taylor responded, “I am so honored and so excited. This was so unexpected, and I could not be more grateful.”

“The second that I put out Fearless, the moment that album came out and I was done with it, I started writing for my next album,” she continued. “I love to plan 20 steps ahead of myself, and it’s really fun competition game that I play with myself, trying to top what I’ve done last. For this next record, that’s all that I’ve been thinking about, that’s all that my mind has been fixated on for the last year, and it’s all that I’m going to be thinking about for this next year.”

The band premiered the second music video, “Naturally,” from her debut album, “Kiss & Tell,” on December 11th, on the Disney Channel following the premiere of “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation.” The single will go into rotation on Radio Disney today.

“Naturally” was directed by Chris Dooley (music video credits include: Scissor Sisters, Marié Digby and David Bowie) who also directed Gomez’s first music video, “Falling Down” and was written by Antonina Armato, Tim James and Devrim Karaoglu.

Miley Cyrus gave the Spartan Sparkles Cheerleaders a surprise recently for the Oprah Show.

The cheerleading group is made up of ten girls with special needs – from autism to Down Syndrome. The squad was surprised with a video message from Miley Cyrus and were invited to her concert in Indianapolis.

Miley also surprised the girls backstage and did the Hoedown Throwdown with the group. She also brought them on stage during “The Climb.”

Miley Cyrus in ‘Sex and the City Sequel’

It looks like Miley Cyrus will indeed appear in the Sex and the City Sequel! Gossip Cop is confirming the rumors that have been swirling around the past few weeks.

They say that in the current script, “Cyrus has one scene, and in it she wears the same dress to a red carpet event that Kim Cattrall’s character buys to look “hot and young.” In the script, Mario Cantone’s character Anthony responds by exclaiming, ‘Mother of God: She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana.’”

As of now the script doesn’t call for Miley to have any speaking lines.

Initially, Gossip Cop was told Miley wouldn’t be in the film because of her busy touring schedule, but now sources involved in the production tell us both sides are arranging so that it can happen.

Miley Cyrus ‘People Have Been So Supportive’

Miley Cyrus revealed to The Associated Press that people are being very supportive of her music and even tweet her about how much she inspires them!

Miley reveals, “On my Twitter, (I get) so many replies like ‘This song inspires me’ and ‘This inspires me.’ … One of the reasons why I love that site is being able to see what people are saying about the record.”

Talking further about the album (The Time of Our Lives), Miley says that it’s a transitional album. “That was really to introduce people to what I want my next record to sound like and with time I will be able to do that a little more and timing is just everything.”

Writing songs is very personal to Miley and sometimes she uses it as an expression. She plays them for friends, but tells them that the song was just for her. “That was just for my peace of mind.” And I think that is important to do that. Not always writing a song and be like, ‘Oh, that is going to be on a record’ If it sounds great and it is something that you think goes along with the album that you are putting together, that is awesome. If not then it’s cool. It doesn’t matter.”

As for her future, Miley says she wants to continue doing everything she can. “My dad always says, “If you ain’t having fun, it ain’t working.” And so when I stop having fun, I’ll just quit everything altogether. But, I’m having fun. … I think I will forever do that, if I have the people that I’m around still around me.”

The Harry Potter starlet, who models for Burberry, told Daily Express, “I don’t think it’s very pretty to be really, really skinny. I don’t aspire to be super-skinny.”

“Even if I wanted to be that skinny I love food and I love cooking and I love sitting down and having nice meals so it just wouldn’t be possible,” she added.

Emma Watson has teamed up with fashion house People Tree to create a collection of for eco-friendly duds for young adults, The Guardian reported.

The collection for People Tree is aimed at bringing fair trade and organic fashion to the 16-24 age group. Emma will be acting in the role of creative advisor, injecting her personal style into the range.

“I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with,” she said.

“I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion and want to make good choices but there aren’t many options out there.”

I personally adore Emma’s fashion sense, so I’m looking forward to seeing what she comes up with!

Guess who’s going to be at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards? The cast of New Moon! Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner will all be there with with an exclusive look at New Moon.

This year’s show airs on September 13th at 9 PM on MTV will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand. Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Green Day, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Muse are confirmed to perform. Presenters will include Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Miranda Cosgrove!

Jonas Brothers Hit Up Much Music!

The Jonas Brothers headed over to Much Music in Toronto yesterday afternoon for a special show, Live At Much!

Teen fans lined up for hours outside 299 Queen St. for a chance to get an autograph from Nick, Joe and Kevin. Fans stayed outside Much Music until the boys left the building. Hundreds of them even attempted to chase the dark-coloured SUVs carrying the boys as it turned down the street.

In other news, earlier this week Nick revealed that he didn’t know if he or Joe would serve as best man for Kevin’s wedding to Danielle Delesea.

“We’ve talked about it a little bit,” he told ABC News Radio on Monday. “He’s working it all out, but we’ll see what happens. I’m happy for them and we love her, and we’re happy to have her as part of the family.”

Selena Gomez and The Scene’s single “Falling Down” premiered on Radio Disney yesterday (August 21). The song is “about Hollywood and what people think about it; and essentially how plastic it is sometimes”. The song is from her upcoming album “Kiss and Tell”, which drops on September 29th.

When talking about her album, Selena said “I want it to be fun, energetic, empowering but very good so with that said I did not write any of the songs but one on the record. It was one of the last songs I recorded and it is definitely one of my favorites. I’m still new and still figuring out where I want to be musically but I think this is a good start … hopefully”.

Taylor Swift arrived at the GMTV studios today (August 21) in a gorgeous floral dress. On her way in, she stopped to sing autographs and pose for photos with fans.

Taylor is in the UK to perform at 2009 V-Fest and is set to release her new single ‘You Belong With Me’ on Monday 24th August.

Although Taylor travels the world, performs in front of hundreds of people and is stalked by the paparazzi and fans, she says she is trying to stay normal. The 19 year old told GMTV, “It still feels very surreal to me… you know, when it all hits me, because I just try to keep my life as normal as possible. I still go to the grocery store. I still do all the things that I used to do, it just takes a little longer and I’m talking to a lot more people and signing autographs now.”

When Taylor left the GMTV studios this morning, she was once again surrounded by fans, signed some autographs, posed for pictures and walked out wearing one heck of a purple dress. This girl always looks good!

Selena Gomez is launching her debut album, Kiss & Tell, on Sept. 29th!

She describes it to Marc Malkin as “fun pop rock, and it has a dance beat to it. I’ve been working on it for two years, so let’s hope that it’s good.”

Selena admits that she only wrote one song on the album, and there’s no need to dissect the lyrics to get hints into her personal life!

And speaking of personal life, there’s tons of attention on her love life lately (Taylor Lautner and Nick Jonas). Selena says that she’s used to it. “Honestly, I just do what I do, live day by day and try not to focus on that,” she said. “It is unfortunate, but it comes with the job.”

Miley Cyrus in ‘Sex and the City Movie’ Sequel?

Miley Cyrus has reportedly been offered a role in the upcoming sequel to last year’s Sex And The City Movie, expected to open in theaters next May.

Film industry insiders told TransWorld News on Thursday that “Miley sees this as a transition from teen stardom to more adult roles. We’re all wondering how long it will take Kim to have Miley knocking back Cosmos and ogling all the men. Seriously though, all the girls are excited to have Miley on board.”
Last year Miley was supposedly going to be in a prequel of the series, in the starring role of Carrie. That obviously didn’t happen, so who knows about this one!

Taylor Swift & Taylor Lautner Team Up For ‘Valentine’s Day’

The two Taylors (Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift) stopped by the set of Valentine’s Day for a cameo appearance this afternoon in Los Angeles!

Both tween idols enjoyed each other’s company on set, flirting and laughing until director Garry Marshall interrupted them.
The newly added actors are playing athletes for the fictional Henderson High School track and field team and Lautner took the opportunity to flaunt his athletic prowess and well-built frame, sprinting, jumping hurdles and doing the high jump while the less sports-inclined Swift did some mild stretching.
Lautner is rumored to play Anne Hatheway’s boyfriend in the movie which is slated to be released in February 2010.
They look cute!

Zac Efron was spotted bungee jumping in Vancouver earlier this month.
Tne of the staff members counted down from three as the 21-year-old actor sprinted into the canyon. He didn’t make make a sound!

Zac is currently in Vancouver filming The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. The film centers on Charlie St. Cloud, a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother. He even takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him. Charlie meets up with his brother (Sam) each night to play catch and talk. Then, a girl comes into Charlie’s life and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to Sam, or going after the girl he loves.

Demi Lovato recently chatted with Associated Press about relationships and her music.

She says she doesn’t really like relationships but she definitely makes time to date! “I love boys, (laughs) but, you know, at the same time, it’s like, I’m not going to go out there and date every single guy that I want. I might, you know, get their number and talk to them a little bit, but there is nothing wrong with that, I’m 16. I don’t really like relationships.”

Demi says she’d rather have a lot of really cute guy friends because you can flirt with them but you don’t have to kiss them or be tied down!

Demi reveals that she has written songs based on her personal life, but she wouldn’t release them to the public.

“There have been times when it has been way too personal, but I never would release any thing like that. Just keep it on my computer, like keep it in a journal. All of my songs are from personal experiences, but I think you can get a lot out of them. … It really is what inspires me at the moment.”

In regards to her new album, Demi says there wasn’t really a theme involved. “We didn’t put a theme together because I wanted to make sure that the album and the songs that were included were just more mature, more of me (laughs).”

Taylor Momsenrecently chatted with Teen Vogue about her very different life and style!

Taylor says that music is different from acting for her. “I kind of grew up in front of the camera: I started modeling when I was two. I was never pushed into it, but I never really chose it either. That’s why music is so different for me—I’ve known since I was little that this is what I want to do.”
As far as writing songs, Taylor says that she writes whatever comes into her mind! “I start with an idea, an emotion, and I write whatever comes into my mind. My lyrics are my diary—you’re hearing every detail of my life. I’m still learning guitar, so I have a writing partner who helps me: I know what I want to do, but I can’t physically do it, so it’s good to have someone there who can interpret. I’d call my music rock, but with pop hooks. I grew up listening to the Beatles, Blondie, and Joan Jett, and I love Nirvana.”
Taylor finished high school more than two years early. “I found it kind of boring. I’m an artist; I’m not going to use trigonometry. Now I’m taking college classes online—I want to major in Language Arts.”
Taylor admits to being opinionated and says she has trust issues. “I’ve always been like that. People misinterpret what I say all the time: They think I’m being offensive, when really, I’m only being opinionated. Most of my friends are older, too. I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about—it seems so petty.”
She reveals that her parents trust her and she’s not a crazy teen. “I’m not dating anyone right now, but I’ve had lots of relationships. My parents know that I’m not going to date someone who’s sixteen. Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there’s just no way— I would eat a boy my age alive.”
Taylor also talks about being a finalist for the role of Hannah Montana. “I think it’s a great opportunity for Miley, but yeah, I guess I am relieved. If I had gotten the part, it would be a very different show. It wouldn’t have worked for me. I push back. When I was nine, it seemed amazing. But I wouldn’t have been able to deal with not writing my own songs. I don’t want to lose the artistry—a lot of people in music right now are faces—manufactured. I don’t want to be that.”

Joe finally admitted that he had a girlfriend on Larry King Live a little over a month ago, but now the beautiful couple has split.
E! Online is reporting the couple has amicably parted ways.
“Yes, it’s true, they have broken up,” says Camilla’s rep. “There is no third party involved, and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.”

Nick Jonas gave an inspiration speech regarding his diabetes while they performed A Little Bit Longer in Philadelphia this weekend.

“I was diagnosed in 2005,” Nick starts. He reveals he had a significant amount of weight loss, 15 pounds in two weeks. “I was drinking a lot of water, all the usual stuff for diabetes. I had no clue though. Once the tour wrapped up I went and saw my doctor. She came back in the room after she did a couple tests, looked me in the eyes, and said, ‘You have diabetes.’”
Nick reveals he didn’t know what that meant in the time so he looked back at her and asked if he was going to die. The entire crowd sighs.

In this first clip Jacob Black and Bella Swan are on the street and Jacob teaches Bella how to ride the dirt bike. Jacob guides her hands (touching!) over the handles. “Brake. Clutch. Gas,” he reminds her. Bella revs the engine. “Slowly release the clutch,” says Jacob.
Suddenly, Bella sees the translucent apparition of Edward, a concerned look on his face, standing in front of her. We can see him, but also see through him. Bella takes off on the bike.
As she zooms down the road, Bella gains speed. She zooms by another apparition of Edward, standing in her path. She speeds by another. Losing focus, Bella swerves and falls from the bike, hitting her head on a rock.
Jacob speeds over to Bella on his own bike, takes off his shirt, and wipes the blood off her face!

In the second clip Bella Swan and Alice Cullen arrive at the square. Alice tells Bella to go, that she’s the only one that Edward can’t “see coming”. Bella runs through the crowd and sees Edward in the shadows. She races toward him and the scene ends.

New Moon Comic Con Press Conference Pictures!

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner took the stage to answer questions from the press at today’s New Moon Comic Con press conference!

Robert talked about being absent from the film, saying, “It would look probably pretty cheesy if it were just my voice, so they’ve done these hallucinations, semi-visible apparitions.”
Kristen reveals that “This movie is not about discovery or falling in love. Bella is basically manic-depressive.”
As for how things have changed, Rob says that he hasn’t at all, but he does look down more often! “When I walk down the street, I look down more often. I think there’s something wrong with my neck. I pretty much live an almost identical life apart from being recognized and that’s not necessarily the worst thing in the world. I never did anything normal anyway. I just get other people to do it now.”
So which of the novels resonated best for the cast? Taylor liked Eclipse while Kristen and Rob picked New Moon!
And all three answered what question they hope they are never asked again. Robert said “What’s it like kissing Taylor?” Taylor says he’s sick of being asked to growl. And Kristen said nothing bugs her. “I’m easy!”

Jonas Brothers Play Softball as the Road Dogs!

The Jonas Brothers are the stars of the softball team, the Road Dogs, and yesterday they took to a makeshift field during a company picnic at AOL’s Dulles campus.

Nick, Joe, and Kevin were in town for an evening performance at the Verizon Center. The game was a promotional appearance for a private jet company and one in a series of fundraisers for the Change for the Children Foundation, a charity the brothers started a year ago to support diabetes research, Special Olympics and other causes.
The boys, who won 15-13, tweeted about the event saying, “Let’s go Road Dogs! Let’s go!!!!!!!!” And Joe tweeted about an injury, revealing, “no my face is fine. A ball flew at my leg though.. Ouch I’ll be soar tomorrow -Joe”

Blake recently admitted that she was so against co-starring with Penn in Gossip Girl, that she “poisoned” their castmates against the actor after he landed his role.
The couple were former childhood classmates and Blake admits she wasn’t always a big supporter of her real-life leading man, after learning he had won over her new bosses and was trailing her acting career.

Yay! We’ve finally got details on Camp Rock 2! The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are headed back to “Camp Rock,” but this time the plot borrows from Shakespeare.

The characters will return to their beloved Camp Rock, only to discover that some of the students and instructors have ditched it for nearby rival Camp Star.
The “Romeo and Juliet” moment comes when Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star’s owner.
Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam will begin production this summer and debut next year on Disney Channel.
Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera and Alyson Stoner will return to the film as well!

Selena continues, “But in the end of it, girls are just as sensitive as you are. I think they bring a sense of heart to you more than boys, if that makes sense. You’re so comfortable around them that you can just be a total girl.”

The ex-couple reportedly rekindled their romance during a Disney Channel photo shoot a few weeks ago. “Miley explained to current beau Justin Gaston after the shoot that she was never truly over Nick and that all her feelings were coming back for him”

Once Justin was out of the way, Nick and Miley got together with Nick. “His family is thrilled with the reunion. Nick’s mom always loved Miley and in light of their Disney show, J.O.N.A.S. taking in the ratings lately, the entire Jonas camp is excited. There’s a hope that their renewed romance will benefit everyone.”

Supposedly Miley’s family isn’t as thrilled because Billy Ray was a big friend with Justin!

But Miley and Nick are thrilled to be back together and talk constantly. “They still manage to speak daily and send texts and Tweets all day long to each other. British actor Gregg Sulkin has recently been linked to Miley Cyrus and is now speaking out about their relationship!

The Hannah Montana starlet and As The Bell Rings star first met at a Disney party.

“She chatted me up and we exchanged numbers and emails,” the Sun quoted Gregg as saying. “She is really, really nice.”

Gregg says that Miley made him realize that everyone is normal, even if they are on film or TV!

The couple met up for a dinner date on Miley’s recent visit to the UK, but he’s not sure where things are going.

“I never know what’s going to happen. I just go with the flow. But we are close,” he said.

I just found this interview with the Jonas Brothers with Larry King.

You should definitely watch every parts.

'I’m on constant ‘mole patrol,’ ” jokes Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy. After seeing scandalous photos of other teen stars, she is determined that 16-year-old Selena will never show too much skin. The guide is a mole on her daughter’s chest that signals when a top hits the “danger—too sexy” point.

But Selena seems unlikely to slip up. She’s all too aware that, as a star of the Disney Channel seriesWizards of Waverly Place and of the new Disney TV movie Princess Protection Program, she has to set a good example for kids. “I think that it’s part of the job where you turn into a role model,” she says. “It’s not something I aimed toward. But now that it’s kind of a title, I do embrace it, because it’s very sweet to have little girls have posters and T-shirts of you.

“I’m only a teenager,” she continues. “I’m also going to make mistakes.” Selena giggles. “But I’ll try to keep those mistakes to myself.”

Raised in Grand Prairie, Tex., she was named after the Mexican-American singer Selena and won a role on TV’s Barney & Friends at 7. Five years later, she was spotted in a Disney talent search and given small parts on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. In 2007, she became a lead on Wizards of Waverly Place, playing the daughter in a family with magical powers.

To her fans, Selena is as well-known for her rumored offscreen roles: ex-girlfriend of Nick Jonas (the youngest in the Jonas Brothers band) and current girlfriend of actor Taylor Lautner of the film Twilight. But while she declares, “I love talking about boys,” she won’t confirm or deny those relationships. “I used to worry about it, but I decided that it’s wrong not to go out to eat with friends or to the movies, because people might see me.” She adds: “It’s exhausting to shield yourself all the time. Still, it seems that boyfriends are all people care about when they write about me.”

Boyfriends are part of the plot of Princess Protection Program, in which she co-stars with her real-life best friend, Demi Lovato. “It’s about fitting in and doing the right thing. But, more important, it’s about friendships,” Selena says. “It’s good to have a girl-empowering movie that’s fun.”

She and Demi have bonded over being stars at such a young age. “On tour and on our shows, we are forced to be mature,” she says. “So when we get together, we’re able to be 16. We have sleep overs and do each other’s hair and makeup and all that stuff.”

Selena admits that fame doesn’t stop her from experiencing the same problems and fears common to all girls her age. “When I have down moments, it’s more about me missing home and my family in Texas,” she says. “When I have those days where I kind of break down a little bit, I just like to be by myself.”

In general, Selena is so poised and level-headed that I have to ask, Does anything make her angry? She laughs. “I like debating, and I want to be right, so I can drag out a discussion for hours. I tell people, ‘Remember, I’m Mexican and Italian, so don’t make me mad.’ ”

Another pet peeve: “It irritates me when people think I live such a special life and that I’m spoiled. I’m an only child, but my grandmother babysat 13 kids at once, so I grew up with a bunch of kids around me. I had lunch at Subway today. My favorite food is fried pickles at Hooters.

“I hate it when people don’t bother to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you,’” Selena adds. “I’ve met the nicest people in L.A., but I’ve also met the meanest.”

Wrapping up the list of what bugs her, how does she feel about being called “the next Miley Cyrus”?

“I don’t get mad about that anymore. It kind of comes with the territory. I know there’s never ‘the next.’ You’re your own person. I’m not here to be ‘the next.’ I’m here just to be Selena. That’s it!

Miley is filming on Tybee Island in Georgia where she was also spotted hanging out in her chair and filming yet another kissing scene with Liam Hemsworth!

I’m not sure if Miley is enjoying the island as much as she’d like. She recently tweeted, “I am unbearably bored. i am alone on tybee island. ideas?”

The Jonas Brothers may have been homeschooled, but they each had graduation ceremonies!

“When I graduated from high school, actually … I was a home schooler,” Joe explained to MTV News. “But we have someone who’s like a principal of the home-schooling school, so she flew out and they all surprised me by giving me like one of those cap and hats … cap and gown, whatever, mine was a cape! I cut it up so that it looked like a cape.”

Kevin reveals that he had an angel-food cake!! “The family got together, did the cap-and-gown thing. We were all home-schooled,” he said before giving props to little brother Nick who just graduated school. “We haven’t celebrated yet, but it happened!”

Miley Cyrus is spotted filming a kissing scene in Savannah, Georgia this afternoon! Miley was kissing co-star Liam Hemsworth for her latest project, The Last Song, a Disney film based on theNicholas Sparks nove of the same name. Today was the official first day of filming.

The Last Song is about seventeen year old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s who goes to spend the summer with her father in Wilmington, North Carolina. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.
